Cole Wrigley is at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital telling his twelve-year-old daughter, Gracie, stories of his past. Today, February 27th, 2015, is Gracie's last day. Cole has already lost his sister, his mother, and his wife. The only one he will have left when Gracie passes is his daughter's doctor, Harper, who happens to be his high school sweetheart who he has rekindled a relationship with.
Harper has now gone missing after her and Cole kissed. She's been abducted by the man she mistakenly tied the knot with after Cole failed to propose sixteen years ago.
Cole is faced with the most difficult decision of his life: Be there for his young daughter in her final moments? Or save the last girl he'd have left in this world when Gracie goes?
The always patient Cole is suddenly presented the task of choosing a path, and he'd better do it quickly. Harper's husband has her at gunpoint, he's all but drunk and crazy, and Cole's reluctance in the past hasn't exactly worked out for him to date.
